Paco (Luca Padovan season 1) is Joe's young neighbor and Claudia’s son. She is also in an on-again, off-again relationship with her ex, Benji. She is best friends with Peach and close friends with Lynn and Annika. Guinevere Beck ( Elizabeth Lail season 1, special guest season 2) is a broke NYU graduate student and an aspiring writer who Joe falls in love with. Joe is portrayed as a teenager by Gianni Ciardiello in season one, and as a child by Aidan Wallace and Jack Fisher in season two and season three respectively. At the end of season 3, Joe is forced to kill Love and moves to Europe, where is given the cover identity of Jonathan Moore, a university English professor. However, his obsessive behavior still finds a way back into their lives, rupturing his marriage.
Joe, then gets married to Love, has a son named Henry and moves to the Californian suburbs. In the second season, he goes by the name Will Bettelheim and works as a bookstore clerk at Anavrin, and stalks and dates Love Quinn.
Joseph Goldberg ( Penn Badgley) is a bookstore manager at Mooney's who stalks and dates Guinevere Beck in the first season. According to the trailer, Joe announces, "gone are the days of unrequited love and longing," which could mean a couple of things, either that he has found love again and is satiated for the time being, or he has found a new love in academia and given up his pursuit of romantic endeavors.
Beyond this, little is known about the plot, but of course, we can speculate based on the information from the trailer and on the pattern of behaviors exhibited by Joe in the previous seasons. The trailer also hints at Marienne's return in season 4, which means that Joe is successful in tracking her down. We can also gather from the teaser trailer that despite adopting a new identity, Joe will soon be up to his old shenanigans, sporting his black baseball cap and chasing after love. Although season 3 ends with Joe in Paris, the setting for season 4 will, in fact, be London, where Joe, aka Jonathan, works and resides. He even grows a beard to aid his disguise. For this season, Joe reinvents himself and takes on the alias of professor Jonathan Moore.
